感恩節作戰計畫

之前車子發電機水泵皮帶出包絞死，順便把動力方向盤皮帶也打掉。

於是只用電瓶的電撐回家。檢查了一下應該是水泵被不平衡的風扇離合器扯爆(應該是說不平衡的風扇離合器運轉時的震動把水泵的bearing跟water seal毀了)。水泵拆下來一看六片扇葉全斷了，拿小夾子只挖到五片扇葉，最後使出渾身解數:吸塵器吸一吸，加上強力磁鐵綁在筷子上伸進去再吸一吸，終於回收全部斷掉的扇葉(見圖)。

最後趁著美國感恩節連續假期換了新的水泵，新的發電機水泵皮帶。裝回壓縮機，動力方向盤皮帶，換上新的風扇離合器。發動看看......好安靜，好像完全變了一台車。試開看看也還可以開，不過晚上大燈打開之後低轉時又有皮帶打滑聲......打滑聲伴隨著電壓下降，轉速稍微拉高就好了。我猜可能新的發電機水泵皮帶張力還沒調好吧......
希望只是這樣......

我後來去美國這裡的材料行(Advance auto part)問有沒有測皮帶張力的工具，結果店員說沒有，叫我調整螺絲轉到皮帶只能搖動一點點就好。於是就開始轉轉轉，我是轉到後窗除霧，大燈，跟空調一起開都還不會打滑，不過再加霧燈就績乖叫的程度。

這樣應該不會太緊吧，後來跑去換機油時請技師看問了一下張力應該OK 吧。

總共換了新的水泵，發電機水泵皮帶，新的風扇離合器。全部自己來不用出工錢......
拆到水泵，這已經是換正時皮帶級的工錢了......

後來多開幾天發現暖氣也沒了，風扇會轉，不過出來的不是熱風。引擎蓋打開一看，water cock那有條真空管斷了，買了條新的換上去，又開了兩天，暖氣又回來了。

事情應該到一段落了吧。

Coffee

This is my moka pot, bought at 2002 in Taiwan department store (I come from Taiwan). It works very good for me, producing lots of expresso keeping me waken in most weekday.

By the way it also save me a lot of money from $tarbucks. I always add "cold" milk in the espresso to cool the coffee then I can drink as soon as possible. I don't like hot coffee latte for several reasons: 1. I don't want to burn my tongue. 2. Usually hot latte use milk with higher fat to steam the fine bubble. 3. Life is short, I don't want to wait the coffee cool. 4. I believe the smell of fresh coffee comes from some molecules that escape more from your cup when coffee is hot. Put hot espresso in to cold milk can keep the smell longer.

There is another reason I add milk, coffee causes calcium loss, I add milk to reverse this loss.

My 1988 nissan 300zx

I use this car to commute between home and school. It runs pretty good. AC is better than my girl friend's matrix. Due to large windshield, rear window, and glass roof, it is very hot in summer season. The MPGs of the car are terrible, I got only 10 in heavy traffic, 16-18 city, 20-23 highway.Due to low MPG of this car I will ride bike between school and home during sunny day. For this reason the car maybe sit in parking lot for long time without driving. Now I am thinking to add a solar panel to charge the battery.
